Safe Homes North

Safe Homes North is a program empowering LGBTQIA+ youth and their allies between the ages of 14 and 23 to live their lives to the fullest. We provide a safe location for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex and asexual youth to make new connections, ask questions and get helpful resources to support their well-being and personal development. The program partners with Fitchburg State University and is located on the college’s campus (more information coming soon).

Safe Homes North is led by professional staff with a focus on creating future opportunities for youth peer staff and volunteers. We believe in putting LGBTQIA+ voices front and center in leadership and include many opportunities for professional development and group facilitation. See more about our leadership opportunities on our Youth Leadership page!

Our services are for people of all races, ethnicities and cultures. We commit ourselves to being allies for restorative justice and racial equity.  Safe Homes has supported LGBTQIA+ youth of all races in finding their truth and their voice for decades. Standing together we bring strength, justice and hope for all.

Safe Homes North is the newest branch of the Safe Homes program. Safe Homes has been serving LGBTQIA+ youth for 25 years, and we are so excited to expand our services to north central Massachusetts.
