Trainings

Our trainings cover a wide range of topics concerning LGBTQIA+ youth. Trainings are provided to Human Service Providers, Educators, Social Workers, Foster Parents, and other community members who work with LGBTQIA+ youth and their families.

  • Bullying/harassment

  • Working with LGBTQIA+ youth in out-of-home care settings

  • Understanding and supporting transgender and gender expansive youth

Youth Leadership

All youth who attend Safe Homes have opportunities to plan and facilitate activities related to their interests and become Youth Advisors. Youth Advisor applications are currently closed.

Youth Advisors are a vital part of Safe Homes:

  • Plan and lead programming

  • Act as ambassadors for the community and role models for other youth

  • Participate in the development and planning of the Safe Homes quarterly schedule

  • Provide peer support to other youth at the drop in center
